김밥 (pronounced gim-bap) It might look like sushi! But trust me, it's not.
While both are rolled in seaweed, sushi is made of rice mixed with sugar and vinegar, whereas Gimbap uses salt and sesame oil - making this rice roll much more savoury than its Japanese counterpart.
The fillings are generally more savoury too using cooked or pickled vegetables that add texture and a medley of flavours.
It's popular with Koreans as a lunch dish and goes well with a hot soup, or as a tasty side to your spicy ramen.
